Badrinath with Vasudhara Falls
Badrinath is one of the most sacred and significant pilgrimage destinations in India, located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is part of the Char Dham Yatra and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped in the ancient Badrinath Temple, situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas. The town is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and the stunning Alaknanda River, making it a spiritual and scenic retreat.
The Badrinath Temple, with its rich history and religious importance, attracts millions of devotees every year. The temple is open only during the summer months, typically from late April to early November, as the region is closed in winter due to heavy snowfall. Pilgrims come here to offer prayers and perform rituals, seeking divine blessings from Lord Vishnu, who is believed to have meditated at this location.
One of the major attractions near Badrinath is the Vasudhara Falls, located about 8 kilometers from the temple. The falls are situated in a picturesque spot at the base of the mountains, where the Alaknanda River originates. The Vasudhara Falls, with its gushing water cascading down the rocks, creates a mesmerizing sight, surrounded by lush green meadows and alpine flora. The waterfall is said to have spiritual significance, and many pilgrims undertake a trek to the falls as part of their spiritual journey, believing that the sight of the falls can purify the soul and bring peace.
The trek to Vasudhara Falls is relatively moderate, taking around 4-5 hours, and provides a unique opportunity to experience the region’s natural beauty. The falls themselves are a serene and tranquil spot, offering a perfect blend of spiritual solace and breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape.
Together, Badrinath and Vasudhara Falls offer an enriching experience for pilgrims and nature enthusiasts alike, blending spirituality, mythology, and the majestic natural beauty of the Himalayas.

The best time for the Chardham Yatra is between May and June, and after the monsoons, from September to October. We avoid the monsoon season (July-August) due to landslides and unpredictable weather
The most common starting points for the Chardham Yatra are Haridwar and Rishikesh. Trek To Temple offers packages that start from both locations, providing convenience for pilgrims.
It’s recommended to engage in regular walking or light trekking to build stamina before starting the yatra. Practicing breathing exercises and maintaining a healthy diet are also helpful for adjusting to high altitudes.
Yes, the Chardham Yatra is open to all age groups, but elderly individuals are advised to check with their doctors before the trip, especially for the Kedarnath trek. We offer helicopter services and pony/doli rides for senior citizens who might find the trek physically demanding.
